The doctor who treat some infant with recurrent respiratory tract infections usually use a number of antibiotic medicine and immunostimulant in clinical, but they often overlooked infant associated with the lack of vitamin D, especially when there are no typical symptoms in infant. So the experiment select some infant with recurrent respiratory tract infection as study objects, through testing levels of 25-(OH)D3, Immunoglobulin, Alkaline phosphatase in vivo, furtherly clarify the relevance between lack of Vitamin D and recurrent respiratory tract infection, and gain a more scientific and reasonable way to prevent recurrent respiratory tract infections and rickets.MethodsTo collect serum samples from infant with recurrent respiratory tract infection (study group) and normal infant(control group)each 48 cases, the levels of 25-(OH)D3was determined by ELISA(Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays),the levels of IgG,IgM,IgA was determined by Rate nephelometry, the levels of Alkaline phosphatase (AKP) was determined by continuous-monitoring.Using statistical method to prove differences between the two group.ResultsThe study group:48 patients, age 8.75±6.55 months. The control group:48 non-infected cases, age 9.75±7.72 months. There are significant statistically differences among serum 25-(OH)D3, IgG and IgM(P<0.05), but no significant difference among IgA and AKP(P>0.05). Serum 25-(OH)D3 exist significant difference between study and control group. Through correlation analysis between serum 25-(OH)D3 levels and IgG, IgM, IgA, AKP respectively on all 96 infants, the result showed that 25-(OH)D3 and the IgG, IgM, IgA, AKP have no significant correlation.ConclusionThrough determining 48 patients with recurrent respiratory tract infections for serum 25-(OH)D3, we finded that who with recurrent respiratory tract infection was significantly less than that who without recurrent respiratory tract infections, suggesting that infants with recurrent respiratory tract infection have closely related to lack of vitamin D. Therefore, given preventive vitamin D for improving immune function is the way of treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infection. Infant with recurrent respiratory tract infections should also pay particularly attention to adding vitamin D and calcium, to prevent the occurrence of rickets. |
