[Aim] Through retrospective analysis from June 2008 to October 2009 in Yanbian University Hospital admitted 11,875 cases of dental clinic patients, to investigate disease constituent ratio.[Methods] The message of 11,875 (2008.06--2009.10) patients were derived from our hospital outpatient dental disease registration card. The differences of the patient's ethnic, gender and disease constituent were analyzed. Which disease classification is based on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) classification and statistical encoding to each of the first diagnosed were as the main diagnostic criterion. This study is divided into the 14 diseases, namely (1) dental caries; (2) periapical disease; (3) oral mucosal disease; (4) periodontal disease; (5) pericoronitis; (6) pulpitis; (7) Malocclusion; (8) dental trauma; (9) temporomandibular joint disease; (10) maxillofacial tumor; (11) salivary gland diseases; (12) soft tissue cyst; (13) jaw bone fractures; (14) and more teeth.[Results]1. Yanbian University Hospital dental clinic distribution of oral disease:The first one is dental caries, accounting for 23.41% of the total number of patients (2786 cases);The second is apical disease, accounting for 20.6% of the total number of patients (2445 cases);The third is oral mucosal disease, accounting for 11.4% of the total number of patients (1355 cases);The fourth periodontal disease, accounting for 10.1% of the total patients (1202 cases);The fifth is pericoronitis, accounting for 9.1% of the total number of patients (1079 cases);The sixth is pulpitis, accounting for 8.7% of the total number of patients (1038 cases);The seventh is Malocclusion, accounting for 5.7% of the total number of patients (672 cases);The eighth is the dental trauma, accounting for 2.6% of the total number of patients (310 cases);The ninth is the temporal mandibular joint disease, accounting for 2.1% of the total number of patients (245 cases);The tenth is the maxillofacial tumors, accounting for 1.8% of the total number of patients (209 cases);The 11th one is salivary gland disease, accounting for 1.8% of the total number of patients (208 cases);The 12th place is the soft tissue cysts, accounting for 1.7% of the total number of patients (198 cases);The 13th place is jaw fracture, accounting for 0.8% of the total number of patients (97 cases);The 14th place is more teeth, accounting for 0.3% of the total number of patients (31 cases).2. Yanbian University Hospital dental clinic age distribution of oral diseases:In 11,875 patients, average age (33.71±21.71) years, minimum 80 days, maximum 88 years; Dental caries average age (36.75±22.94) years; Periapical disease average age (36.71±20.84) years; oral mucosal disease average age (34.45±24.04) years; Periodontal disease average age (46.04±19.21) years; Pulpitis average age (33.43±20.91) years; Malocclusion average age (19.95±18.66 years); dental trauma average age (33.51±22.17) years; temporomandibular joint disease average age (32.95±15.81) years; maxillofacial tumor average age (39.83±19.83) years; salivary gland diseases average age (33.14±18.72) years; soft tissue cyst average age (36.78±21.70) years; jaw bone fractures average age (33.29±19.27) years; more teeth average age (10.33±5.08) years.3. Yanbian University Hospital dental clinic gender differences in oral disease:In 11,875 patients, women account for 50.05%(5944), men accounted for 49.95% (5931); The gender difference of dental caries, periapical disease, oral mucosal disease, salivary gland diseases and maxillofacial tumor were statistically significant, P<0.05; and periodontal disease, pericoronitis, pulpitis, Malocclusion, dental trauma, temporomandibular joint disorders, soft tissue cysts, jaw fractures and more teeth in males and females showed no significant difference, P> 0.05.4. Yanbian University Hospital dental clinic of oral diseases among different ethnic:In 11,875 patients, accounting for 51.91% of Korean nation (6164 cases), Han nation accounts for 47.63%(5656 cases), other nation accounting for 0.46%(55 cases); The nation difference of Korean nation and Han nation with dental caries, periapical disease, oral mucosal disease, maxillofacial tumors and salivary gland diseasec were statistically significant, P<0.05; and periodontal disease, pericoronitis, pulpitis, malocclusion, dental trauma, submandibular joint diseases, soft tissue cysts, jaw fracture and more teeth were no significant differences, P> 0.05.[Conclusions] In the Yanbian hospital,1. the ranking of oral diseases followed by dental caries disease, periapical disease, oral mucosal disease, periodontitis, pericoronitis, pulpitis, Malocclusion, dental trauma, temporal mandibular joint disease, maxillofacial tumors, salivary gland disease, soft tissue cysts, jaw fractures and multiple teeth; 2. In the Yanbian area, the case rate of dental caries, periapical disease, oral mucosal disease and salivary gland disease were more women than men, but contrary in maxillofacial tumors; 3. In Yanbian aera, the case rate of dental caries and periapical disease were more Korean nation than Han nation, but contrary in oral mucosal disease.
