ObjectiveThe purpose of this survey is to explore the epidemiological state and rehabilitation status of intervention of children with autism spectrum disorders in the Ranghulu district of Da Qing city. Through the cross-sectional investigation of the 2 to 6 years old children in Ranghulu District of Da Qing City and to provide scientific basis for the relevant departments to institute laws, policies and work; which is about the prevention, monitoring, education and other aspects of the autism spectrum disorders. Through training and publicity to disease-related knowledge it improves the ability of medical staff and community residents, parents of early recognition of disease, so that children can receive early diagnosis and early intervention to improve the prognosis of the disease, finally to improve quality of life and reduce the family and the social pressure.MethodsThis is a cross-sectional-point survey, which is stratified random cluster sampling method to sample, and screen all of sampling children by Clancy Autism Behavior Scale. Screening-positive children are evaluated one by one with Autism Behavior Checklist, then the pediatric physician make the diagnosis of the disease, according the detailed and objective history provided by the parents, a comprehensive psychological examination, the necessary psychological assessment, physical and neurological examination and the necessary supporting checks, combined with DSM-IV diagnostic criteria; finally provide the relevant circumstances questionnaire to the parents of ASD children.Results 1.The prevalence rate of 2-6 years old children with autism spectrum disorders in Ranghulu district of Da Qing city was 2.42‰;2.There is no significant difference neither between urban and rural distribution nor age distribution of 2-6 years old children with autism spectrum disorders, but it exist significant difference between boys and girls, the ratio of male to female is 3.25:1;3.47.1% of the children who were diagnosed haven't been found abnormal or haven't been taken to visit doctor,64.7% of diagnosed children was untreated;4.All diagnosed children's families require rehabilitation.Conclusion1.The prevalence rates of 2 to 6 years old children with autism spectrum disorders in Ranghulu district of Da Qing city is higher domestic findings of the same age group, in contrast to the report of the foreign range it is in a low-range;2.The prevalence rates have no significant difference neither between urban and rural distribution nor age distribution of 2-6 years old children with autism spectrum disorders, but it exist significant difference between boys and girls. The significant differences of prevalence on gender in support of that genetic are one of the possible risk factors.3.The less awareness of the disease in the community and the limit of rehabilitation institution made more than half of children haven't been diagnosed, More than two thirds of children have not get rehabilitation and treatment.4.The diagnosed children's family have a strong demand of visits and rehabilitation and their quality of lives have been severely affected.It is necessary that the relevant sectors of society should pay attention to this group's need and to formulate relevant policies and regulations to give their support and help.
