Research On Factors Influencing Doctor-Patient Knowledge Transfer Based On Patient Trust

Doctor-Patient (D-P for short) knowledge transfer has been paid more and more attention as the doctor-patient relationship gets more and more tense in our country. Efficient knowledge transfer is the key factor to improve the D-P relationship. And patient trust plays an important role in the transfer process. Patients are willing to receive and adsorb the knowledge with trust. This dissertation discusses what factors influence the D-P knowledge transfer process, and what role patient trust plays between the influencing factors and the knowledge transfer effect.This dissertation starts with review of literature and summarizes the concepts of knowledge, knowledge transfer, D-P knowledge transfer and patient trust.A systematical reserch on CHAT theory is also carried out, as well as conlusion on the application of this theory in medical industry. On this basis, patient trust is brought forward and the model of D-P knowledge transfer based on patient trust is formed.At the first stage of empirical research, a small-scale pre-investigation is carried out to adjust the theory model and questionnaire. At the second stage of research, the first hand data is collected by a survey and the result of questionnaire investigation is analyzed with SPSS 17.0.According to the result of investigation and data analysis, several research conclusions are drawn and hypotheses are adjusted. Here are the main conclusions: The doctor's communication ability and patient's sactisfaction can well explain the patient's awarness of the knowledge transfer. And the patient's satisfaction can well explain the patient's compliance to the doctor's advice. Patient trust mediates between the influencing factors and the D-P knowledge transfer effect. Patients with different characteristics perceive differently on trust and knowledge transfer effect.At last, the dissertation points out the limitation of this research and the future research direction.
