Evaluation On The Efficacy Of Free Distributing Drug In Different Way To The Poor Schizophrenics In Dalian

Objective : To evaluate the efficacy of free distributing drug in different way to the schizophrenics.This research is used to help to improve the precaution and treatment effects on poor schizophrenics in Dalian. It also provided scientific evidence to Dalian government in planning schizophrenics'diseases community recovery and adjusting the way of free distributing drug to schizophrenics.Methods:Selected 500 poor schizophrenics by district and randomly divided them into two groups,each team has 250 patients. The patients in intervention group got drug from professional doctors and treated by them monthly. The patients in non-intervention group got drug from Community Health Center quarterly. After distributed free drug for 3 years,all patients were evaluated with the CGI evaluation, Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS),General Well-Being Schedule (GWB),then they were assessed Guardianship rate,relapse rate,re-hospitalization rate and trouble- making rate.Result: Compared with patients in non-intervention group,the trea- ting effectiveness,social function and General Well-Being Index were significantly superior in intervention group at the end of study (P<0.05). In the relapse rate,re-hospitalization rate and troublemaking times appears a declined trend in intervention group during 3 years.Conclusion: Improvement of treatment with free distributing drug to schizophrenics is significantly better than free distributing drug only. It can reduce relapse rate,improve schizophrenic's compliance,feeling of happi- ness and social function.
