Objective:To analysis the relationship of the mammographic density that showed by mammography of the breast cancer. To discuss the relativity between the serum levels of leptin and body mass index(BMI) to mammographic density. TO study the effect of the mammographic density, serum levels of leptin and BMI in breast cancer patients. Methods: 513 cases of breast cancer patients and 198 cases of healthy control group during January 2008~March 2009 period in the center of breast of the Shanxi Cancer Hospital were collected. All cases are examined using full-field digital mammography of GE. Craniocaudal(CC)view and Midiolateral Oblique(MLO)view were conducted for everyone. The total mammographic density and the mammographic density of nondense area were measured using the software of computer. The mammographic density of dense area were calculated. The stature and avoirdupois of everyone were measured and the BMI were calculated. Serum levels of leptin were detected with ELISA between breast cancer patients and healthy subjects at the same time. SPSS16.0 software package was applied to process statiscally..Results:1.For the breast cancer patients, their total mammographic density are higher than the healthy control group(p<0.001).2. No significant difference of the mammographic density were detected between breast cancer patients and healthy control group in nondense area (p>0.05).3. The mammographic density of breast cancer patients is higher than the healthy control group in dense area.(p<0.001).4. The serum levels of leptin of breast cancer patients is higher than the healthy control group(p<0.05).5. The difference of BMI was found between breast cancer patients and healthy control group ( p<0.05)..6. The . mammographic density of dense area is significantly associated with the serum levels of leptin in the breast cancer patients( p<0.01)7. The mammographic density of dense area is significantly associated with BMI in the breast cancer patients ( p<0.01).8.The total mammographic density, the mammographic density of nondense area and the mammographic density of dense area is not significantly associated with the serum levels of leptin in healthy control groups (p>0.05).9. The total mammographic density, the mammographic density of nondense area and the mammographic density of dense area is not significantly associated with the BMI in healthy control groups (p>0.05).Conclusion:1. They are closely relationship of the breast cancer and higher mammographic density.2. The mammographic density of the dense area had significant correlation with the serum levels of leptin in the breast cancer patients, perhaps their have interaction.3.The mammographic density of dense area had significant correlation with the BMI.,perhaps their have interaction.4.The mammographic density is not significant correlation with the serum level of leptin and BMI in healthy control groups.
