| Objective: To evaluate the expression of laminin(LN) in serum and peritoneal fluid(PF),and CA125 in serum of patients with endometriosis ,and to investigate the role and significance of LN and CA125 on the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods: The serum and peritoneal fluid samples from 30 cases with endometriosis (study group) and 15 cases elimimate endometriosis (control group) that underwent laparoscopic surgery were collected. Patients with endometriosis were grouped according to the revised American Fertility Society(AFS) staging as stageâ… 2 cases, stageâ…¡10 cases,stageâ…¢7 cases and stageâ…£11 cases. LN in serum and PF were measured using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). CA125 in serum were detected by radioimmunoassay(RIA). Data were analyzed according to disease stage, invasion site and phase of the menstrual cycle.Results:1.The levels of LN in the serum of the study group(109.64±19.67ng/ml) were higher than that of control group(70.54±5.99ng/ml,P<0.01).The levels of LN in the PF of the study group(32.97±7.25ng/ml) were higher than that of control group(18.15±2.53ng/ml,P<0.01).2.There was significant increse in LN levels both in serum and PF between severe stage and mild stage(serum:124.72±10.54ng/ml,86.20±7.66ng/ml,P<0.01;PF:38.01±3.88ng/ml,25.35±3.31ng/ml,P<0.01).3.There was no obvious difference in LN levels during proliferative phase and secretory phase in study group(serum:111.13±18.74 ng/ml,108.89±22.47ng/ml;PF: 33.87±7.15ng/ml,31.36±7.53 ng/ml, Pï¹¥0.05) and control group(serum:69.70± 7.56ng/ml,71.26±4.67ng/ml;PF:18.71±2.60ng/ml,17.65±2.52ng/ml,Pï¹¥0.05)。4.There was no significant difference in LN levels both in serum and PF between unilateral ovarian cyst group and bilateral group(serum: 111.83±16.81ng/ml,109.24±22.81ng/ml,Pï¹¥0.05;PF:34.14±8.35ng/ml,32.14±6.69ng/ml,Pï¹¥0.05).However,there was significant difference in LN levels both in serum and PF between left lateral ovarian cyst group and right group(serum:106.14±14.96ng/ml,128.90±8.71ng/ml,P<0.05; PF: 31.17±7.46ng/ml,43.07±1.36ng/ml,P<0.05).5. The levels of CA125 in serum of the study group(41.78±19.33KIU/L) were obviously higher than that of control group(17.71±5.11KIU/L, P<0.01).There was significant increse of CA125 levels in serum between severe stage and mild stage(54.53±12.37KIU/L,22.66±9.16KIU/L,P<0.01).6. There was no obvious difference of CA125 levels in serum during proliferative phase and secretory phase in study group(45.22±15.63 KIU/L,35.85±24.15 KIU/L,Pï¹¥0.05) and control group(17.19±3.21KIU/L,17.64±6.59KIU/L,Pï¹¥0.05)。7. There was no significant difference of CA125 levels in serum between unilateral ovarian cyst group and bilateral group(40.02±15.94KIU/L,45.19±21.16KIU/L,Pï¹¥0.05),and there was no significant difference of CA125 levels in serum between left lateral ovarian cyst group and right group(37.41±17.65KIU/L,47.84±5.29KIU/L,Pï¹¥0.05).8.There was correlation between LN and CA125 levels in serum in study group (r=0.706,P<0.01).The levels of LN in serum were positively related with that in PF (r=0.833,P<0.01),and both of them were correlated with AFS scores(r=0.945,P<0.01;r=0.864,P<0.01).Conclusions:1. The levels of LN were increased in the serum and PF in endometriosis patients,it was correlated with AFS scores and increased with the extent of disease, which suggests that LN plays some roles on the occurrence and development of EMS.2. The levels of CA125 levels were increased in the serum in EMS patients, and it increased with the extent of disease, which suggests that CA125 participates in the patho- logical process of EMS.3. Combined measurement LN and CA125 in serum of EMS patients has an important diagnostic value. |
