The Empirical Study On Therapeutic Effect Of Acupuncture To Treat Menopausal Syndrome On Castrate Rats

ObjectiveMenopausal period is a very important life stage that every woman has to experience.When women are in the very stage of menopausal period, hyop-ovarianism leads to the intensity fluctuation or decreasing of estrogen level,which results in the development of menopausal syndrome,a series of syndrome composing of malfunction of autonomic nervous system,neuro-psych symptom and the relative symptom of hypo-estrogen level.About 75%-88%of women suffer from some symtoms when they are in the menopausal period.When treating menopausal syndrome,symptomatic treatment and hormone replacement therapy is generally used in modern medcine.But in the recent ten years,there are a lot of disputes about the advantages and disadvantages of the application of estrogen.Many clinical and empirical studies show that the long-term usage of estrogen may have the potential hazard of increasing the attack rate of breast carcinoma and endometrial cancer.Besides,there would be some side effects such as uterine bleeding,gas pain of breast,edama, abdominal distension and headache.Nowadays,people begin to pay more and more attention in life quality.So,find out a safe and effective method to help women overcome monopausal period means a lot.Acupuncture is a special medical techinque that derived from the same origin of ancient China,which has come through a history of more than five thousand years.At the base of specific therapeutic effect of meridian and acupoint,acunpuncture induce the effect of dredging the channels and meridians,strengthening healthy qi to eliminate pathogens and regulating the balance of yin-yang.It is widely used in clinic.Method:There are 40 SD rats in total,randomly divide them into 4 groups on average, that is normal group,model control group,western medicine group, accupuncture group.The normalgroup is only used for comparison and observation.On the first day of the experiment,take an operation of bilateral oophorectomy for all the rats except the normal group so as to build up the animal model.One week after the operation,intragastric administrate febrile dryness herbal broth for these four groups so as to build up yin-deficiency type model,and the course last for a week.Two weeks after the operation, begin the therapeutic course for every group.Western medicine group: intragastric administrate Diethylstilbestrol;accupuncture group: accupuncture every day.The course of treatment lasts for two weeks.On the 29th day of the experiment,cut off the heads of all the rats,take blood sample to test the concentration of luteotrophic hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH) and estradiol(E₂) in the blood serum.The changes of the rats' weight is one of the observed index too.We weigh and record the weight of every rat at the first day of the experiment,after one week,after two weeks,after three weeks and after four weeks.Results:(1)The comparison of LH,FSH,E₂ in the blood serum of each group:the content of E2 in the blood serum of the normal group is higher than the other four groups which have taken the operation,and the difference has statistical significance(P＜0.05);and the contents of LH and FSH are lower than the other groups;both are match with the changes of indocrine of women in menopausal period.The content of E₂ in the blood serum of the acupuncture group is higher than the model control group,and the contents of LH and FSH are lower than it,both have statistical significance(P＜0.05).The content of E₂ in the blood serum of the western medcine group is higher than the model control group, and the contents of LH and FSH are lower than it.But maybe because the sample size is not enough,both have not statistical significance(P＞0.05).(2)The changes of the rats' weight:before the experiment,the difference of the weight of each group does not have statistical significance(P＞0.05). After the experiment,the weight of each group has been increased more or less. The weight after therapy and the ascending amplitude of the model control group are higher than the other groups,and both have statistical significance (P＜0.05).After the intervention of therapeutic measure,the weight of western medicine group and accupuncture group are lower than the model control group, having statistical significance(P＜0.05).The weight of both groups are higher the normal group,but do not have statistical significance(P＞0.05).Conclusions:(1)Acupuncture can help regulating the function of Hypothalamic-Pituitary -ovarian axis,raising the level of estrogen and degrading the level of FSH and LH.(2) Acupuncture can help controling the increasing of weight of model animals.It' s effect is milder and it has more advantages in regulating the whole function of the organism when compairing with oestrin treatment.(3) Acupuncture has equivalent therapeutic effect as hormone replacement therapy,but the former is safer and it has lower incidence of adverse effec.(4) Acupuncture has significant effect for menopausal syndrome.It may improve all kinds of symptom of menopausal syndrome and improve the life quality of women after menopause if it is applied in clinic.
