Objective To explore the risk factor of unintentional injury in children,and to prevent and reduce the occurrence of unintentional injury of children.Methods A retrospective analysis was made for the 0—14 year-old of 1078 cases of unintentional injury of children treated in the Second Affilliatied Hospital of Kunming Medical College from 2006 to 2008.Results The first three unintentional injury were bums,falls and traffic accidents. The hospitalization dued to unintentional injuries in children were no significant difference in the number of growth from 2006 to 2008.The longest number of days of hospitalization were burn,traffic accidents and electric shock.The sex.the age,the region of residence,the places of injury,the occurrence of the season,the employment status of parents,the degree of parental education and their income are statistically significant.Conclusion①It was high incidence,that the risk factor of unintentional injury were male children,living in rural areas,parents with low education and low income.②The main type of unintentional injury were burns,falls and traffic accidents.The major factor of unintentional injury in death were buns,traffic accidents.②The injuries mainly occurred in infancy and summer and winter.④The reason of unintentional injury happening to children of different ages was different.⑤The hospitalization dued to unintentional injuries in children were no significant changes in the number of growth from 2006 to 2008.⑥To explore the different characteristics of effective interventions for unintentional injuries in children,and to reduce the incidence of it,the health and safety education is an important aspect to prevent unintentional injury.
