Sleep is an essential process for life and an important link that the organism recovers, combines and consolidates memory, it is an indispensable component of the healthy. Good sleep will make us induce tiredness and make people refreshed, so more and more people have drawn attention to the problem of sleeping quality. However, along with the rapid rhythm of modern social living, the exaggeration of the work pressure. Insomnia has been a common disease and some other diseases' reason.Baimai-anshen decoction(BAD)., a medical treatment preparation, is made-up by clinical empirical formula. Through clinical application in multi-years, it has a broad spectrum of better applications as a nervous exhaustion, insomnia; but it is short of empirical study foundation. This topic will provide a experimental evidence for nervous exhaustion and insomnia, by the research of BAD affecing sleep phase of normal and hyposomnia rat.We adopted the experimental method of PSG and electric stimulation to tempt the insomnia of rats. Through the analysis of EEG, we assumed effect of the Baimai-anshen decoction on the sleep phase of insomnia rats and compared the two experimental results.The experimental results indicated that contribution to sleep phase of the normal rats, compared with fore-administration, SWS2(p<0.05) and REMS(p<0.05) of the normal rats were all significantly prolonged after administration of BAD of the high, middle and low dose. The middle and low dose can prolong cumulative time by prolongation of SWS2 and REMS of the normal rats; the high dose can't remarkably effect TST.With sleep phase of insomnia rats induced by electric stimulation, compared with fore-administration, SWS2(p<0.05) and REMS(p<0.05) of the insomnia rats were all overwhelmingly prolonged after administration of BAD of the high, middle and low dose. The middle and low dose can markedly prolong TST (p<0.05); the high dose can't remarkably effect TST.The research manifested that , compare with anshen-bunao-ye , prolongation effectiveness of SWS2 of insomnia rats in middle dose of BAD was better than anshen-bunao-ye (p<0.05).According to the experimental results,we can conclude that: the middle and low dose can prolong cumulative time by prolongation of SWS2 and REMS of the normal rats; the high dose can't remarkably effect TST, but it can enormously extend the SWS2 and REMS. This indicates that BAD can improve the hypnic-effectiveness of the normal rats. Findings of sleep phase of insomnia rats shows that SWS2 and REMS of the insomnia rats were all overwhelmingly prolonged after administration of BAD of the middle, low dose, so as to markedly prolong TST; the high dose can't remarkably effect TST, hoever, it may significantly prolong SWS2 and REMS. This symptomatizes BAD may treat insomnia of hyposomnia rats. Compare with the anshen-bunao-ye, prolongation effectiveness of SWS2 of hyposomnia rats in middle dose of BAD was better than anshen-bunao-ye .On the basis of experimental result above-mentioned, we can provide some experiment foundation for BAD in clinical treatment of insomnia.
