Objectives: In view of people's admiration for good health and equality, the health equality has become a hot social issue gradually. Health equality is a situation in which the population health levels in different social stratification are equal or nearly equal. It is not only the objective of the national health policy, but also the symbol of the development of a country and the core of the healthcare equality. This study aims to evaluate the health un-equality on the basis of understanding the health status of residents in Chong-qing and related influence factors, to provide evidences for the government to make health policy and implement health interventions, and to explore the comprehensive methods of evaluating the health un-equality;Methods: With the two-week morbidity, chronic morbidity and disability as main indexes, we explored the impact degree of some causative variables (such as sex, age, education degree, income, marriage and occupation) to the health of the residents by Logistic regression analysis. After weighing the health impact degree according to each causative variable, we measured the health un-equality with the health un-equality index values. Results: 1.The following indexes had a certain influence to the health of the residents: sex, age, education degree, income, marriage and occupation. The following population had a relative poor health status: women, the senior, low-income population, low-education population and the unemployment population. 2. The health un-equality index values were all above 0.1 in each district, which demonstrated that there is health un-equality situation with different degrees in each district, especially in the counties. Conclusion: 1. This study initiated new methods to caculate the un-equality index values as the indexes of evaluating the health un-equality. The index values are characterized by good comprehantion and comparability.2. Healthcare services focus on the residents in counties, especially on women, the seniors, low-income population, low-education population and the unemployment population.
