ObjectiveTo evaluate effectiveness of Reproduction Tract Infection (RTI) intervening project among married Women aged child - Bearing in rural area of JiangXi province, offer evidence for exploring effective RTI intervention pattern in the undeveloped local countryside.MethodsBase line investigations were completed in 12 villages of 4 counties which were selected by the method of stratified cluster sampling before intervention. Questionnaires, gynecologic examinations and laboratory tests were done four times repeatedly during intervening. In addition, one village of each 4 counties was chosen as the control group. Lastly, all data were stored in Epidata2.0 and analysed by software SPSS 10.0 and SAS6.12.Results1. The change of prevalence of RTI: After intervening the prevalence rate of RTI dropped from 66.02% to 24.69%, which was lower than that in the control group (48.81%). The incidence rate of the chronic cervicitis was highest per time in gynecologic examination in intervening groups as well as in contrast groups, which was 40.00%, 45.77% , 41.55% , 30.17% , 22.85% in turn.2. The change of Behavior of seeking for Medical Advice: After intervening the incidence of RTI and non-symptom rate among married child-bearing women dropped. The women who saw a doctor on their own initiative accounted for 69.0%, higher than that (39.6% ) in the contrast group, since RTIs intervening project implementation. The proportion of going to a doctor immediately rose from 46.7% during the first intervening to 75.6% during the forth intervening.3. The change of Knowledge, Attitudes, Practice: After intervening, more women presented correct answer to questions about RTI knowledge and attitudes; And the normal rate of menstruation rised from 79.3% to 85.5% after intervening. The proportion of women who worked in the paddyfield and did heavy work during menstrual period obviously dropped from 76.0%, 67.1% to 44.0%, 39.3%, respectively. The proportion of women who acquired knowledge of RTI through TV, consulting, newspapers, magazines and lectures was ascending. The proportions of women who cleaned vulva using single tray and washcloth, had a shower and corrected cleaning method after defecation were raised from 79.1%, 23.4%, 58.8% to 84.0%, 55.6%, 64.0%, respectively.ConclusionThe intervention of RTI can reduce the prevalence rate and ameliorate the patient's condition. The RTI intervention project play an important role of encouraging the married women to see a doctor on their own initiative. Women's knowledge, attitudes and behavior related RTI are all improving obviously after intervention.
