[Objective]To investigate the efficacy, quality of life (QOL)and safety ofbioresonance therapy against chronic urticaria (CU).[Method]51 patients diagnosed as CU were chosen. After the allergen detection, all patients were treated by bioresonance therapy for desensitization everyother 5~7 days, for 10 weeks. We recorded each patient's clinical scores, quality of life (QOL) scores and adverse reactions every other week.Datawere analyzed by SPSS 13.0 software package.[Results]1) Among 51 patients who received therapy: 20 cases fully recovery, 14cases significant improvement, 10 cases moderate improvement, and 7 casesno change or mild improvement. The total effective rate was 66.67%, andnone was found side effect. 2)After treatment, the clinical sores of mostpatients ameliorated with the symptom score reduce index (SSRI) decreasedand QOL scores improved significantly. 3)The clinical and QOL scoresdecreased as treatment times increased. Clinical scores:before treatment=11.28±2.07,2 weeks later=7.80±2.95, 4 weeks later=5.94±2.93,6 weeks later=5.23±3.05,8 weeks later=3.76±3.13,10 weeks later =3.68±3.17,QOL scores:before treatment=13.24±5.23,2 weeks later=8.83±3.80,4 weekslater=6.48±3.814,6 weeks later=5.53±3.45,8 weeks later=4.49±3.20,10 weekslater=3.69±3.10.[Conclusion]1)Bioresonance therapy is a safe and effective therapy for CUpatients.2)CU affects the patients' QOL seriously, bioresonance therapy canimprove quality life of the patients significantly further showing it's efficacyfor CU.3 ) As a therapy without any trauma, bioresonance therapy is anothergood choice for CU patiens. [Objective]To explore the mechanism of chronic urticaria (CU) by observing thenumber of eosinophile granulocyte( EOS),serum levels of immunoglobulin E(IgE),Interleukin-4 (IL-4) and Interleukin-5 (IL-5) .And to investigatethe efficacy and the potential mechanism of bioresance therapy for patientswith CU.[Method]30 cases were chosen to detect the number of EOS in peripheral bloodand the serum level of IgE,IL-4 and IL-5 before and after treatment. Finally,we analyzed the changes of the above factors (EOS, IgE, IL-4, IL-5 ) of CUpatients after therapy and compared them with the control group.Data wereanalyzed by SPSS 13.0 software package.[Results]1)The levels of IL-4 and IL-5 in CU patients were significantly higherthan those of the controls.2) Both were decreased significantly after treatment.3)The level of IL-4 was significantly higher than that of the control groupafter treatment, but no significant difference was found in that of IL-5.4)There were no significant differences in EOS numbers between the patients before and after treatment and the control group. 5)The serum level of IgE inCU patients was significantly higher than that of the control group, but therewas no significant difference before and after treatment. 6)The level of IL-4has positive correlation with that of IL-5,but there were no correlationbetween IL-4 and IgE, EOS and IL-5.[Conclusion]1) The serum levels of IL-4,IL-5 in CU patients were higher than thoseof control group suggesting these cytokines probably take part in thedevelopment of CU, and the etiopathogenisis of CU maybe correlated withthe imbalance of Th subgroup cells(Th1/Th2). 2)After therapy, the serumlevels of IL-4 and IL-5 reduced with SSRI decreasing, indicating that effectsof bioresonance therapy maybe developed by modulating the Th system.
