ObjectiveThe aim of research is to evaluate the effect of metoprolol to heart rate, central and peripheral arterial pressure of hypertension Patients. evaluate difference of descendent of central arterial pressure in different antihypertensive agents.Methods50 Primary hypertension patients were selected,All patients were examined the brachial arterial pressure and coronary arteriography. Guiding cathter was delivered to radial artery and ascending aorta. Radial arterial pressure was taken as and ascending aortal pressure was taken as central blood pressure. If blood pressure over normal value, An unkown doctor provide any one to patients with 25~50mg metoprolol or 10 mg nifedipine and recorded heart rate, peripheral arterial pressure, curve of ascending aortal pressure and their values. The data were analyzed by the SPSS 12.0 software, P<0.05 was looked as statistical significance.ResultsThere was no statistical significance in heart rate, central arterial pressure and peripheral arterial pressure between group A and B before drugs (P>0.05),In A group after drugs heart rate descended significantly, In B group heart rate declined significantly, both group was statistical significance than that before drugs (P>0.05).In A group after drugs SBP and DBP of peripheral arterial descended significantly than that before drugs (P<0.05), central arterial pressure didn't changed significantly ,there was no statistical significance (P>0.05). In B group central arterial pressure and peripheral arterial pressure descended significantly than that before drugs (P>O.05). After drugs both group SBP and DBP of peripheral arterial descended that was no statistical significance between two groups (P>0.05), but central arterial pressure in B group descended significantly than that in A group (P<0.05).ConclusionThe central arterial pressure descended in two groups but descendent of pressure was significantly lower inβ-adrenoceptor blocking drugs metoprolol group than that in calcium antagonists nifedipine group.Even descendent of deperipheral arterial pressure was similar, the extent of central arterial pressure dropped by metoprolol was significantly lower than that by nifedipine.
