Purpose: To appraisal the indication, curative effect and complication of using TriVex system to treat varicose veins of lower extremities, meanwhile, to observe the curative effect to venous dermatic affections by TriVex system accompanied with benzathine penicillin. Then investigate the forte and drawbacks as well as modified measure of TriVex system compared with traditional operation and other minimally invasive treatments. Methods: To use transilluminated powered phlebectomy(TriVex system) to treat varicose veins and venous dermatic affections on 127cases with 189 legs affected and to apply benzathine penicillin post operation on the ones had venous dermatic affections. Then follow up the patients after discharge for three to forty months and record the CEAP grade of the legs before operation and the improvement of the varicose veins and venous dermatic affections, observe the complications related to the operation as well. Finally, gathered data on each aspects and made analysis on them. Results: 186 legs out of 189 healing well after the operation by using of TriVex system while 3 out of 186 improved a lot. After operation, 78 legs had complication of hypodermatic gore and 18 legs suffered from paresthesia of local cutaneous covering, however, all the complications disappeared thoroughly in a short time. No deep venous thrombosis, infection of the wound, acute cellulites and ulcer formation even necrosis of the skin existed but one showed varicose vein of the leg once again in the area never affected in the former operation and been cured by local stripping. All the ones who had got ulcers of the leg in hospitalization were healing thoroughly within one month after operation. Pigmentation and swelling of the legs had been improved more or less after operation too. The total curative effective power of eczema formation , chronic cellulites, thrombosis of the superficial veins or superficial thrombophlebitis and bleeding of the varicose veins of the affected legs achieved 100%.Conclusion: Using of TriVex system to treat varicose veins and venous dermatic affections is an effective, convenient and safe new minimal invasive technology, which has wider indications than other microtraumatic technologies as well as tremendous superiorities in thoroughly treating, improvements of venous dermatic affections and prevention of palindromia compared with traditional operation. This technology could be used in all cases that have easy and smooth deep veins especially the ones with upper CEAP grade accompanied with various venous dermatic affections. Frequent complications of transilluminated powered phlebectomy are hypodermatic gore, paresthesia of local cutaneous covering and hypodermatic induration but all of which are reversible. The operation of TriVex system is simple and quick, the patients have little suffering after operation and have a quicker recovery. This technology scarcely has severe complications on deep venous thrombosis, ulcer formation even necrosis of the skin and dysfunction of the extremities and has a extreme cure rate, however, the long term effect of the technology still needs observation and follow ups.
