| Objective Aim to evaluate the efficacy of Transilluminated Powered Phlebectomy (TriVex System) for removal of varicose veins of lower extremity. Methods The clinical data of 30 cases (39 legs) from January 2005 to August 2005 was analysed retrospectively. Results The average incision number was 4.71. It took 25 minutes to do phlebectomy and the average blood lost volume was 137.46ml. There were 3 cases complicated with hematoma and 7 cases with skin numbness. During the follow-up, pigmentation was diminished and ulcers were healed day by day. No one complained of recurrence and residue of varicose veins. Conclusion Transilluminated Powered Phlebectomy (TriVex System) in treating of varicose veins of lower extremity is effective and promising. |
