A Clinical Study On Cerebral Ischemic Stroke Treated With Nape Acupuncture

Objective:Through observing the influence of the nape acupuncture therapy on mark of neurological functional deficit, speed of brain blood, activated partial thromboplastin time, prothrombin time, thrombin time, fibrinogen and C-reactive protein in patients with ischemic apoplexy.Methods:We selected 100 cases that were diagnosed as cerebral ischemic stroke through the examination of CT or MRI and according to the degree of the symptom and we randomly divided the cases into two groups: the treatment group treated with nape acupuncture; the control group treated with scalp acupuncture. The group of Nape acupuncture take Fengchi(GB 20) and Wangu(GB 12) combine with routine acupoints such as Jianyu(LI 15), Quchi(LI 11), Waiguan(SJ 5), Hegu(LI 4), Futu(ST 32), Zusanli(ST 36), Jiexi(ST 41), Taichong(LR 3). Control group of head acupuncture take linea oblique anterior of top temple combine with routine acupoints the same as the group of Nape acupuncture. The patient received the treatment of acupuncture once a day, with fifteen days as a period of treatment, remained needle 60minutes each time. Pre and post treatment of acupuncture, we gave a mark of the degree of neurologic impairment and checked transcranial Doppler, activated partial thromboplastin time, prothrombin time, thrombin time, fibrinogen and C-reactive protein pre and post treatment.Results:We made evaluations on the degree of neurologic impairment for 100 cases of the cerebral ischemic stroke pre and post treatment. After treatment, as far as average integrals of physical signs were concerned, the marks of two groups decreased.For nape acupuncture group and control group, the two groups' effective rate were respectively 90.0%, 86.0%,their obvious effects counted 68.0%, 66.0% respectively. While to the recovery of hemiparalysis and facial palsy, nape acupuncture therapy had an advantage in curative effect than control group. Selecting randomly 45 cases from the whole, by checking transcranial Doppler both pre treatment and post treatment,we found that after therapy, both two group's systolic flow velocity and mean flow velocity of the brain artery had a decrease tendency significantly and got close to normal value. There is significant difference. To the extent of ameliorating transcranial Doppler indexes, the nape acupuncture group improved better than the control group, and there is significant differences. It meant that the nape acupuncture group had better function on adjusting speed of brain blood than the control group. Selecting randomly 49 cases from the whole, by checking activated partial thromboplastin time, prothrombin time, thrombin time, fibrinogen both pre treatment and post treatment,we found that after therapy, both two group's four indexes had a decrease tendency significantly and got close to normal value. There is significant difference. To the extent of ameliorating, thrombin time, fibrinogen indexes, the nape acupuncture group improved better than the control group, and there is significant differences. It meant that the nape acupuncture group had better function on adjusting the four than the control group.Conclusion:The nape acupuncture therapy can not only release apparently physical signs of patients, but also improve the indexes of speed of brain blood, fibrinogen. The results illustrate: the mechanism of treating ischemic apoplexy with nape acupuncture was possible that it can increase the blood supply of the brain, improve the blood state.
