A Randomized Controlled Study On Ischemic Stroke Treated With Nape Acupuncture

Objective:Through observing the influence of the nape acupuncture therapy on mark of neurological functional deficit and hemorheology in patients with ischemic apoplexy, we try to approach the mechanism of action of nape acupuncture therapy to ischemic apoplexy, and provide scientific theoretical foundations for nape acupuncture therapy to it. Methods:We selected cases that were diagnosed as CIS in the acute stage or recover stage through the examination of CT or MRI and according to the degree of the symptom and we randomly divided the cases into two groups: the treatment group treated with nape acupuncture; the control group treated with scalp acupuncture. The patient received the treatment of acupuncture once a day, with fifteen days as a period of treatment. Pre and post treatment of acupuncture, we gave a mark of the degree of neurologic impairment and checked hemorheology pre and post treatment. Results:We made evaluations on the degree of neurologic impairment for 108 cases of the CIS pre and post treatment. After treatment, as far as average integrals of physical signs were concerned, the marks of two groups decreased .For nape acupuncture group and control group, the two groups' effective rate were respectively 80.0%, 73.6%,their obvious effects counted 34.5%, 30.2% respectively, there is no significant difference(p>0.05). While to the recovery of hemiparalysis and facial palsy, nape acupuncture therapy had an advantage in curative effect than control group. Selecting randomly 68 cases from the whole, by checking hemorheology both pre treatment and post treatment ,we found that after therapy, both two group's hemorheology had a decrease tendency significantly and got close to normal value.
