Effect Of Two Kinds Of Horizontal Strabismus Operation To Wavefront Aberration

PurposeTo investigate dynamic change in wavefront aberration by comparing the pre-andpostoperative aberration of patients with the two kind of horizontal strabismus.MethodsChoose 34 patients(45 eyes) of horizontal strabismus, age range from 7 to38(average=23.3), Exclude patients of corneal disease and amblyopia. The patientsdivide into two groups differently according to the patient surgery way: 1. The group ofthe lateral rectus muscle recession(25 eyes). 2: The group of the horizontal rectusrecession and resection(20 eyes)The wavefront aberration was examined 1 day beforesurgery and 1,7,30,60 and 90days after surgery by using wavefront aberrometer(VisxCostom Vue). Pupil diameter 6.00±0.25. And applies the data to the variance analysisof two factor repetition measurement to carry on statistics processing.Results1,Z₂²(astigmatism): The group of the lateral rectus muscle recession, theascension after surgery one day, a week and after surgery one month restores to thelevel before surgery. In the group of the horizontal rectus recession and resection, theascension after surgery one day, a week and one month, after surgery two to threemonths restores to the level before surgery. 2, High order phase contrast: Z₃¹(coma)in the group of the lateral rectus muscle recession:the ascension after surgery one day, aweek, after surgery one month restores normally. Z₃³,Z₄²,Z₄⁴,Z₅¹,Z₅³: theascension after surgery one day and after surgery a week restores normally. Z₃¹(coma) in the horizontal rectus recession and resection group: the ascension after surgery oneday, a week and one month, after surgery two months restores normally. Z₄²,Z₄⁴,Z₅³,Z₅⁵,Z₆²,Z₆⁴,Z₆⁶ in the horizontal rectus recession and resection group, the ascensionafter surgery one day, a week and after surgery one month restores to the normal level.Conclusion1. Two kinds of horizontal rectus surgeries (the lateral rectus muscle recession, thehorizontal rectus recession and resection) cannot cause the change of Z₂⁰(defocus). 2.Among the influences of the two horizontal rectus surgeries to Z₂²(astigmatism), theinfluence of the horizontal rectus recession and resection to Z₂² is bigger and theduration is longer, approximately 1 month. 3. It has the difference of the influencesbetween two surgery ways to Z₅³,Z₂²,Z₄²,Z₅⁵,Z₆² and the Z₆⁶.
