| Objective: To observe the effects of yixin decoction on growth hormone(GH), tumor necrosis factor (TNF) levels in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods:Sixty CHF patients(tradition Chinese medicine term Qi-deficiency and Blood-stasis with water-retention syndrome) were randomly divided into two groups, Chinese and western medicine remedy group(n=30) and western medicine remedy group (yinxin decoction was added to western medicine remedy group ) (n=30) The cardiac-function and traditional Chinese medicine symptom of all patients were detected before and after 2 weeks therepy. The plasma a concentration of GH and TNF were detected by radioimmunoassay.Results: The cardiac-function (p<0.05) and traditional Chinese medicine symptom (p<0.01) of all patients were obviously increased in two groups pre-and post-treatment; Level of plasma GH was increased (p<0.01) and TNF was decreased (p<0.01). The indices in Chinese and western medicine remedy group were improved better than those in western medicine remedy group.Conclusion: Yixin decoction treats chronic heart failure probably by means of increasing the level of the plasma GH and decreasing the level of the plasma TNF;blocking the nerval endocrine system effect and improving the patients with chronic heart failure life quality. |
