Objective:To compare the clinical effectiveness and the safety of the traditional Chinese medicine named Yan-Ting medicinal broth on retention enema treatment and oral medication of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. Discuss the etiopathogenisis, pathogenesis, determination of treatment based in pathogenesis obtained through differentiation of symptoms and signs and modern research advancement. Methods:On the foundation of previous experiment and clinical research which had proved curative effect of Yan-Ting medicinal broth. The research method of random, multicentre and parallel contrast were used. There are 105 cases divided into retention enema group and oral application group at random, in which 12 cases were lost.eventurally there are 47 cases in retention enema group and 46 cases in oral application group. Respectively use retention enema method and oral medication with Yan-Ting medicinal broth to treat the chronic pelvic inflammatory disease(qi-stagnancy and blood stasis). The course of the treatment all are 10 days. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and clinical partial physical signs are observed before and after the treatment in every group ,the contrast curative effect are observed at the same time.Result: The contrasts of age and the course of disease and the history of pregancy and delivery are all have no significant statistical difference, the two groups can be contrast; The total effective rate of the two groups both exceeded 80%. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and clinical partial physical signs are all improved than before treatment(P<0.05),retention enema group was improved better than the oral medication group. Conclusion: Treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease through retention enema method and oral medication with traditionalchinese medicine named Yan-Ting medicinal broth, have gained very good clinical effect, and the curative effect of the retention enema group is better than the oral medication group. The clinical application of Yan-Ting medicinal broth is safety and hasn't harmful reaction.Provide science evidence for the profound research and generalization of Yan-Ting medicinal broth in the further.
