Study On The Effects Of IL-13 And Qol By Indirect Moxibustion With Ginger On Dog-Day For Non-Acute Bronchial Asthma

Purpose: To discuss the mechanism of indirect moxibustion with ginger on dog-day for bronchial asthma by observing the changes of the patients serum IL-13 before and after treatment. And to assess the short-term curative effect and the effect on the quality of life in the patients by observing the changes of their sings and symptoms and quality of life before treatment and after finishing the periods of treatment for 3 months.Methods: 30 cases were collected from the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in FuJian Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in July 2005. On the first(July 15), second(July 25) and third(August 14) dog-day in 2005, treating the patients by indirect moxibustion with ginger on the points of Dazhui(DU14) and FeiShu(BL13, double). Comparing of the concentration of serum IL-13 in the patients and in 20 healthy volunteers before and after treatment. And observing the changes of their sings and symptoms and quality of life before treatment and after finishing the periods of treatment for 3 months. Results:1. There was extremely significant difference on serum IL-13 between the patients and the healthy volunteers before treatment (P<0. 01).
