Clinical Study On The Therapeutic Effect Of Combined Iodine-131 And "Fufang Jiakang Tablets" On Graves' Disease

Purpose To observe the effect of combining iodtne-131(¹³¹l )and "fufang jiakang tablets"("FJT") to treat Graves' disease and evaluate the outcome and the clinical significance.Materials and methods 121 cases of Graves' disease were randomly divided into two groups: (1) contrast group: 58 cases were treated with ¹³¹I alone; (2) research group: 61 cases were treated with combining ¹³¹I and "FJT". Before treatment of two groups, 24-h radioiodine uptake (RAIL)), effective half-life (EHL) , serum levels of FT3, FT4, sTSH, TGAb, TMAb and TRAb were measured in every patients. The weight of thyroid gland,¹³¹I dosage of per-gram thyroid gland, the total dosage of ¹³¹I to every patient were estimated before our treatment. All the date were calculated with difference levels. Every patient was followed-up in 2,4,12 months after treatment. The changes of clinical symptom in two groups were compared after treatment, and the influence of ¹³¹I and "FJT" in treatment was observed. The outcome of combining ¹³¹I and "FJT" was evaluated by clinical symptom, thyroid function, the autoimmune antibody of thyroid gland(TGAb,TMAb,TRAb), the clinical control rate, early hypothyroidism and recurrence rate. All the date were compared with that of its above or behind and were compared between two groups.Results (1) The clinical symptom changes of two groups in two months after treatment: the first week to 4th week after having ¹³¹I, the symptom of hyperthyroidism were aggravated in some patients of two groups, The rate of research group was obviously lower than contrast group(6.56% vs. 84.48%). Research group was also obviously lower than contrast group in terms of the early complication of thyroiditis (1.64% vs 20.7%), hypothyroidism crisis (0% vs 1.7%).
