Purpose:(l)To observe the changes of Nitrogen acetyl-aspartate(NAA), Choline (Cho) and Creatine (Cr) at temporal lobe in patients with epilepsy; (2)To examine impairment of cognitive function in patients with epilepsy; (3)To discuss the relationship of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(~1H-MRS) at temporal lobe and cognitive function in patients with epilepsy. Methods:48 patients and 28 normal persons had been investigated. They all had been examined by the following means: ~1H-MRS scan (temporal lobe) used Siemens Sonata 1.5T MRI/MRS system, memory function examination us Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS), intelligence examination used Ravin's standard progressive Matrices(R' SPM). Finally , to analyze the discrepancy and relationship of these values.
