Objective:To observe the effects of needing combined with cognitive function training on the cognitive function of stroke patients, the significance of them was to be discussed, and a more effective therapy than single cognitive function training was to be sought.Methods:Thirty-six patients were randomly divided into tow groups, treatment group and control group. There were 18 patients each group. Patients in the control group were treated with routine cognitive function training method, while those in the treatment group received the treatment of acupuncture in addition to the conventional therapy. All patients were assessed before and after training period. The evaluating items included : NCSE cognitive scale for cognitive function ; Fugl-Meyer measurement for the motor function ; Barthel index scales for ability of daily life.Results:(l)There is a significant improvement (P<0. 01) of cognitive function, the motor function, ability of daily life both in the treatment group and the control group before and after training period.(2)There is a significant difference (P<0. 05) of cognitive function, the motor function, ability of daily life between the treatment group and the control group after treatment.(3) Significant relationships were found among cognitive function, the motor function and ability of daily life (r=0.793-0.894, P<0.001) .
