Objective: To study the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-12 (MMP-12) in human endometrial carcinoma tissue and its relation to the invasion and metastasis of endometrial carcinoma. Methods: Subject investigated: 42 cases of endometrial carcinoma proved endometrioid carcinoma by pathology are taken as the study group. During the same period 12 cases of atypical hyperplasia of endometrium proved by pathology for dilation and curettage due to abnormal vaginal bleeding and 12 cases of normal endometrium for hysterectomy due to hysteromyoma are taken as the control group . All cases hadn't been treated with chemotherapy, irradiation or hormone before the operation of hysterectomy. Experimental methods:(1) The S–P Immunocytochemistry was used to measure the expression of MMP-12 in endometrial carcinoma tissue of 42 cases, the atypical hyperplastic endometrium of 12 cases and the normal endometrium of 12 cases, and to study the relationship between this expression and the clinical pathological characteristics of endometrial carcinoma; (2) Use Western blot to examine the difference between MMP-12 protein level and activities in endometrial carcinoma and normal endometrium. Apply SPSS 10.0 for windows to make a statistic examination on the examined results from Immunocytochemistry. Results: The MMP-12 protein mainly expressed in endometrial...
