| Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of personal psychological care to reduce the anxiety, depress the emotion, and improve the quality of the life of gastric cancer patients with chemotherapy, so as to detect appropriate psychological care ways according to the situation of my country; more tumor patients can benefit from them.Methods 45 gastric cancer patients with chemotherapy (who have received chemotherapy twice or more than twice, and had known their illness) were divided into two groups, which was the control group and treatment group. There was no significant difference in the general data between two groups, such as KPS point, age, gender, and educational degree. The treatment group accepted the procedure of psychological care while they were receiving the chemotherapy. Two groups were measured by scales on the first and 21st days and compared the point of anxiety, depress and quality of life by T-test.Results The points of the anxiety and the depression of treatment groups were reduced; the patients' anxiety and depression were alleviated; the parts of the functions in quality of life were improved, such as somatic function, role function, emotional function, fatigue, nausea and vomit, insomnia.Conclusion The psychological cares, which were used to care for the gastric cancer patients with chemotherapy in this study, can reduce patients' anxiety and depression, improve their somatic function, role function, and emotional function significantly, and also can change the symptoms of fatigue, nausea and vomit, insomnia. Thus, the psychological care way showed obvious effects. |
