Medicine is one branch of sciences, which maintains and promotes people health. The high medical education shoulders the important task of cultivating special medical talents. In high medical education, the schooling length is one of main factors that determine the rank and quality of the educated medical talents. Up to now, in high medical education system of China, there still exist problems, such as the irrational structure of schooling system, rather low-leveled medical talents and rather short schooling length, low degree of education and unbalanced medical level of doctors in clinic. In order to promote the general level of medical education system of China, narrow the gap with foreign medical education, further accommodate to multilevel health service demands, and take an active part in international competition, the education system reform is of necessity. In this study, we used the methods including retrospective study, comparative study and case study to analyze and compare the factors like the historical development, the general situation, the social development, the personnel resources and the recruitment mode of China and foreign nations so as to point out the problems or defects existing in Chinese high medical education system. Meanwhile, we used foreign medical education system for reference and brought forward some advices upon reform of Chinese high medical education system suitable for Chinese situation. There are three parts in our study. The first part: Theoretical bases for comparative study of high medical educational systems between China and other nations. The second part: The comparison of high medical education systems was carried out in aspects of the status of education system, social development, personnel resources and recruitment mode. The third part: Advices on reform of Chinese high medical education system.
