| Osteoporosis (OP) is a kind of disease caused by many reasons.Along with the growth of aging population, fracture caused by OPtends to be increase, so does the rate of complication, disability anddeath caused by long-term bedridden after fracture. It poses greatthreat to aging population. Academic circles all over the world havealready realized that OP is of great importance.Seeing that biological character of bone structure, the Researchon biosynthesis of bone mostly uses cartilage structure,Proteoglycan(PG), which has close relationship with OP takes a great proportion incartilage structure,80-90% PG is Glycosaminoglycan (GAG)。All inall, PG has it close relationship with OP.Actually, PG is a short name for Proteoglycan. It means that one ormore than one high polymer material of covalent linkage polycosechain and protein, and it mainly means that complex of covalent bondadpressed polycose and protein. PG and it mainly structure GAG is akind of important biomacromolecule,and it is also the one of therichest structure in content and function of extracellular matrix (ECM).PG exist in great numbers in vertebrate cartilage, skin, tendon etc.,connective tissue and it has complex function in physiology andimportant clinical significance.Antler is one of precious traditional Chinese medicine. Its specialgrowing process has both similarity and distinction in endochondralbone formation course。The process rate of bone-built in antler is asfast as 1/4 inch per a day and comparing with any other animals in anyages, it would be the top rate according to recent research.
