OBJECTIVE To detect the accurate of three-dimensional ultrasound(3DUS)measuring system. To evaluated Color Doppler ultrasound for detecting benign and malignanthepatic tumor in three-dimension.METHODS ①Part of experimental study: volume of 68 regular and irregularphantoms were measured by two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasonographyand compared with the real volume of it. To calculate the measurement error and to dothe correlation and regression analysis. ②Part of clinical study: The group of malignanthepatic tumor was 37, the group of benign tumor was 36. Both benign and malignant breast tumorwere 26. each was confirmed by surgery and pathology. To observed the flow in tumor,perforating branch and ratio of color volume and volume after 3D reconstruction by Aloka-5500ultrasonic equipment and TomTec 3D imaging system.RESULTS ①Part of experimental study: measurement error of regular phantomsby 2DUS and 3DUS were 7.75%±10.21%, 0.80%±2.11%; and measurement error ofirregular phantoms by 2DUS and 3DUS were 27.39%±13.99%,1.18%±3.10%(P<0.05) respectively. The correlation of phantoms and real volume was well by2DUS and 3DUS, moreover, the correlation coefficient of 3DUS was higher than 2DUS.The equation of regular phantoms in 2DUS was y=-0.35+0.95x,γ=0.868;the equationof regular phantoms in 3DUS was y=-0.55+1.03x,γ=0.996. The equation of irregularphantoms in 2DUS was y=-4.60+1.59x,γ=0.871;The equation of irregular phantomsin 3DUS was y=-0.34+0.99x,γ=0.982. ②Part of clinical study: The difference betweenthe benign and malignant tumor were not significant in blood outside volume(P>0.05) afterreconstruction for the hepatic and mammary tumor . But there were significant in center bloodflow, perforation branch. To emphasize was the blood stream which to enter the tumor and toreach the center of the tumor, the difference of it in 3DUS and 2DUS had significance. moreover,to calculate the volume(V) the color volume(CV), the ratio of color volume and volume(VI) by3DUS. To compare them between the benign and malignant tumor, it found that the V, CV in thebenign and malignant tumor had no difference, but the VI had significant difference.CONCLUSION ①Part of experimental study: The experimental study shows themeasurement in 3DUS was more excellent than 2DUS, and the correlation ofphantoms and real volume was well by 3DUS measuring system. ②Part of clinicalstudy: The experimental study showed the measurement in 3DUS was more excellentthan 2DUS, and the correlation of phantoms and true volume was well by 3DUS. Theclinical study showed that the 3DUS was well than 2DUS in demonstrate the form, bloodstream and perforation branch, moreover, to offer a index to differential diagnosis and deservesfurther research.
