AIM: To study the effects and mechanisms of vinpocetine injection in treatment ofmice with the transient ischemic attack(TIA).METHODS: TIA was induced by injection of peroxide(t-BHP)0.11 mol·L-1 inmice. Different doses of vinpocetine injection and 0.9%NaCl were injected everyday. The day after inducing TIA second time ,collect blood to assaylysophosphatidic acid(LPA) by cut the heads of mice,at the sametime, take the brain observes the pathology changes. The stroke scoreof mice were measured at the first, second ,third day of the initiatedtime and the first, second day of second time in the TIA-inducedexperiment.RESULTS: The stroke score of mice inject with vinpocetine injection (0.7mg·kg-1·d-1) was 4.738±0.709, while the score of the control group was7.563±0.658(P<0.05). Plasma LPA of mice with TIA were increased comparedwith the control group. These were 6.381±0.154 and 2.187±0.136μmol·L-1,respectively. After administration of vinpocetine injection, it decreased to4.587±0.259 μmol·L-1.CONCLUSION: The plasma LPA lever changes in mice with experimental TIAin mice. Vipocetine injection may can take the beneficial effect on them.
