The major-minor system is established to widen students' knowledge, enhance their social adaptive ability, and cultivate cross-disciplined and multiple talents. With the further reform of the higher education, credit system and major-minor system, two new instruction administration models, has become more and more the hot issue of instruction reformation in our military college. Facing the present quality-oriented education and innovation- oriented education, how to recognize and explore the major-minor system, which could be suitable to our military medical college, is an important problem. It will be of great significance to solve this problem, especially in deepening instruction reformation, improving instruction quality and meeting the demand for modern military talents by Jiang Zeming.This paper used various methods of literature synthesis analysis, Ridit analysis, precedence chart and expert grading. Through the major-minor system theory discussion, major-minor system practice analysis, setting field investigation of major-minor system in key universities of our country and demand investigation of major-minor system in military medical college, we groped for the practical feasibility of the major-minor system in military medical colleges and, based on this, designed the minor-in-computer curriculum in major-minor system of clinical medical undergraduates (five-year) in military medical colleges. There are six parts in this paper as follows:Part I: The theory discussion of major-minor system. By studying relative conception, we ascertained the range and emphasis of this research and the objectives of major-minor system as well.Part II: The practice analysis of major-minor system. By analyzing the world development and present state of the major-minor system, we summarized its setting characteristics.Part III: The minor-discipline demand investigation of major-minor system in military medical colleges. In investigating experts, military medical undergraduates and military medical colleges managing staff, we learned that minor disciplines are in demand.Part IV: The practical feasibility of the credit system and major-minor system in military medical colleges. From the function of major-minor system in military medical colleges, we analyzed the minor-system instruction feasibility in teaching resources and supply.Part V: Constructing the minor-in-computer curriculum for clinical medical undergraduates (five-year) in military medical colleges. By using Ridit statistical method, we analyzed the questionnaire investigation data about curriculum structure obtained from professional teachers in teaching and the third-year students in computer. Then, according to the scientific and systemic principles, we structured the minor-in-computer curriculum.Part VI: The assessment and perfecting of the constructed minor-in-computer curriculum. Experts evaluated the feasibility of the curriculum setting. It was perfected after amending according to their suggestion. This study plays an important part, in order to adapt to high tech local war, perfecting educational system of military medicine. It aims at providing reference for setting major-minor system and decision-making gist for establishing minor-in-computer curriculum system at a higher level.
