New Therapy Of Treating Arteriosclerosis Obliterans With The Wen Tong Tang Decoction

Arteriosclerosis Obliterans(ASO) is one of the questionable diseases in surgery, whose pathoyenesis has not been known clearly. There is no specific drug that can cure the disease home and abroad at present. The TCM therapy by overall analysis and differentiation of syndrome and signs has marked efficacy. This study consists of two parts: the clinical study and the experimental study. In the clinical study, ASO patients were divided into two groups at random. Besides of conventional western medicine,we designed the" Wen Tong Tang" decoction to treating group. Patients in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine only. The results indicated that the decoction has marked efficacy with the total effective rate of 94.6%, but the one of the control group is 83.33%. The difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.05). According to the pathoyenesis of ASO, we select the animal experiment model and engage in the science experiment. The conclusion of the study indicated that the "Wen Tong Tang "decoction has marked efficacy on analgesia, low triglyceride and cholesterol, ameliorating the hemodynamics, and restore the balance of Nitric oxide and Endothelin. It not only proved that the decoction has the theoretical and experimental bases, but also explain the mechanisms of TCM therapy On ASO. So it provided us with a handy, efficient treatment of ASO.
