Along with the thorough reforms of Chinese medical structure,hospitals, which were the welfare institutions, are being pushed into market. With the change of medical mode, Chinese hospitals have to face more and more serious conditions, such as economy, society, politics, policy, law, ethic, science and technology etc. after China joining into WTO. In this condition, hospitals must introduce the strategic thinking into daily management and recognize the strengths and weaknesses of themselves, the opportunities and threats they must face. However, a good many research state clearly that almost all of the medical institutions in China ignored strategy management in a long time or are lack of it at all.In this article, the strategy management of Chengdu Western Hospital is chose to study on as a example. There are five chapters in it. The strategy projects of will be established after the external opportunities and threats, internal strengths and weaknesses are analyzed incisively. During this course, many practical methods and theory such as EFE matrix, IFE matrix, Competitive Profile matrix, SWOT matrix, SPACE matrix are used to make the results more accurate and practical.This article draws materials from the real instance during the daily management of Chengdu Western Hospital. It is a result of conjunction of theory and practice, and also a vivid case of Strategic Management. Some useful and practical methods in it can be used for reference to other hospitals and enterprises in their strategy management.
