Objective To explore the expression of ER,C-erbB-2,PCNA , CD40,CD138 and gelsolin in breast carcinoma, and to study the correlation between their expression and cell biological behavior of breast carcinoma cells. Methods 42 cases of breast carcinoma tissues were detected by Envision immunohistochemical technique, and 15 fibroadenomas as controls. Results (1)The positive rate of ER,C-erbB-2,PCNA,CD40,CD138 and gelsolin abnormally expressed in breast carcinoma tissues, and there existed significant differences compared with fibroadenomas(P<0.05).C-erbB-2, PCNA and CD40 expression was of potential values for diagnosis of breast carcinoma, and combined detection might enhance sensitivity and specify for analysis. But their expression wasn't related to ages and tumor size (P>0.05); (2)Very interestingly the expression of ER, C-erbB-2, PCNA, CD 138 and gelsolin in breast carcinoma correlated with lymphatic metastasis(P<0.05), but the expression of CD40 wasn't related to lymphatic metastasis in 42 cases of breast carcinoma. (3) The correlation of cell molecular expression of ER and C-erbB-2;PCNA and CD138;C-erbB-2 and gelsolin in breast carcinoma was evidenced. Conclusions When breast epithelial cells became malignant, some molecular expression and biological behavior were remarkably abnormal. Therefore , further understanding the mechanisms of abnormal changes of CD40, CD138 and gelsolin might provide reliable evidence for diagnosis , treatment and prognosis in breast carcinoma.
