Objective:To study the relation of TGF- P in diabetic hepatopathy (DH) hepatitis and cirhosis. Methods: 39 tree shrews were divided at random into normal control group 12 tree shiews , STZ treatment groups, one Iv STZ 120mg/kg injection and after 6 Weeks tree shrews with FBG 11.lmmolIL were 10 innumber constituting diabetic group and FBG<11.lmmol/L were 8 innumber constituting STZ control group whilst recording FBG values before and after being injected, after being injected part of tree shrews were killed and the pathological changes in their liver were stained in HE stain immunohistochemical staining(sp technique) and observed under a light microscope and an electron microscope. Results: The blood sugar levels of the diabetic group six weeks after being injected clearly increased, STZ control group FBG<1 1.lmmol/L, the blood sugar level in the normal group under went little change; after being injected the body weight of the diabectic group drasticly decreased the body weight for STZ control group under went little change . the normal groups under went no changes. Under a light microscopic study of positive slides of the diabetic group the following were found: 1) BaLlooning degeneration, an increase in cytoplasmic glycogen staining ; 2) Acidophilic corpusclesl ; 3) Portal infiltration by inflammatory cell; 4) Spotty necrosis in parenchyma of liver. And under an electron microscope study following positive results were found 1) Fatty degeneration, presence of fatty droplets in the cytoplasm ; 2) Fuzzy and unclear cellular organelle; 3) Inter cytoplasmic glycogen increase, occasional sightings of small amounts of glocogen in the nucleus; 4) Distortion and swelling of the mitochondria accompanied by unclear internal composition; 5) Escentric nucleolus, flocculent like chromatin; 6) Threshing in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and increase in smooth endoplasmic reticulum. Taking comparision the pathological change in liver of the Diabetic group with that of STZ groups and normal groups, a clear difference was obtained, (p<0.05). Thus magnifying the clear pathological change in the liver of the diabetic group. In experimental diabetes tree shrew incidence TGF- P 1is increased. Conclusion: During diabetic hepatopathy TGF- P ~ can through stimulating the lipocyte cells regulate extracellular material (ECM) and caues hepatic fibrosis.
