| Objective:Comparing the curative effects of the intensive isometrics of cervical muscles plus normal medical measures(massage plus traction) with the normal medical measures only on the cervical spondylosis, and discuss the benefits and the possible active mechanisms of the intensive isometrics of cervical muscles, thus provide some scientific clinical evidence for the application of this exercise therapy. Methods : 80 suitable subjects were selected among the patients in the Affiliated Sport Hospital Of Chengdu Sports University between 2013 May to 2014 September. The subjects were simply divided into two groups randomly with 40 subjects in each group to do a control experiment. Group A applied the treatment methods of intensive isometrics of cervical muscles plus normal medical measures, and group B applied the normal medical measures only. 15 times for a period of treatment, and two courses of continuous treatment in total. After the courses, group A continued to apply the intensive isometrics and no other arrangements for group B. In the end, comparing and analyzing the results by VAS, NDI, the trapezius muscle state evaluation and CASCS. At the same time, the recurrence rate of those patients after 6 months were recorded. SPSS19.0 statistical software was used in the data analysis, and the level of significance was set at p< 0.05.Results:Of the 80 subjects, 39 in group A and 38 in group B finished their treatment and were all follow-up in the experiment. All data of the subjects in both groups before the treatment were statistically analyzed in VAS, NDI, the trapezius muscle state evaluation and CASCS, and the level of significance was set at p< 0.05. After the treatment, subjects in both groups had different degrees of improvement the clinical symptoms and signs, trapezius muscle activity and their ability of daily life, while the difference between the two groups both before and after the treatment had remarkable significance(p<0.05). After 6 months follow-up, while the difference between the two groups on the recurrence rate had remarkable significance(p<0.05). Conclusion:1,Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative disease of the spine. In the degenerative change(internal factors)with a variety of acute and chronic injury and other factors(external factors)leads to a cervical static and dynamic imbalance resulting in cervical spine instability is the main pathogenesis.2,The intensive isometrics of cervical muscles can ease the patients’ pain in neck and back significantly, which also improve the subjects of their clinical symptoms and signs, reduce the tension and hardness of their trapezius muscles and their ability of daily life, and it has an important significance on maintaining long-term efficacy. 3,The intensive isometrics of cervical muscles by restoring cervical exogenous stability and establish the cervical dynamic equilibrium, through cervical dynamic balance correct cervical stability balance, and gradually restore the cervical endogenous stability, and the cervical internal and external sources to achieve new dynamic balance.4,The intensive isometrics of cervical muscles is simple in design and easy to learn, which is convenient for the patients and all sorts of medical institutions to practice. On the other hand, its curative effect can last a long time which can save the doctors a lot of energy and save the patient much money, thus it can save the society plenty of medical resources and be widely recommended as a basic exercise prescription to treat the cervical spondylosis. |
