A Retrospective Study On The Treatment Of Vertigo In Patients With Hypertension

Purpose:This study, by gathering the case files of the outpatients of Professor Cheng Choufu with the symptom of hypertensive vertigo, To investigate the rules of TCM patterns about hypertensive vertigo,focuses on finding out the medication rule of Professor Cheng Choufu to the patients with hypertensive disease.Materials and methods:In this study, we gathered120cases of outpatients and inpatients with the symptom of hypertensive vertigo, who were treated by Professor Cheng Choufu in The First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medication from January2012to January2015. In the120cases we gathered, there were53male cases and67female ones, of which the sources were in strict accordance with the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria selection. Then, we filed the raw data into ExcelZO03, using frequency statistics method to study the common clinical drugs with their functions and categories, and the medication rule of Professor Cheng Choufu, followed by a summary of the academic thought and treatment experience of the hypertensive disease.Results:120cases were collected in this study, with a total of417prescriptions,129kinds of traditional Chinese herbs, involving15classes of medicine, in3162times of prescribing. We summarized the36kinds of herbal medicine with highest frequency, with analysis of their functions and categories, to conclude the categories of the top11ones. After taking the medicine, the clinical symptoms improved in many levels. TCM patterns of120cases:Pattern of Phlegm-dampness、Pattern of Ascendant hyperactivity of live、Pattern of yin deficiency with yang hyper、Pattern of yin and yang deficiency.Using medicine including blood circulation to remove blood stasis drugs、clear heat purging gunpowder、clear heat cool blood、sedative medicine, medicine and water seeping wind wet medicine、liver qi, etc.Conclusions:1.The rule of TCM patterns about hypertensive vertigo:Pattern of Phlegm-dampness> Pattern of Ascendant hyperactivity of liver> Pattern of yin deficiency with yang hyper> Pattern of yin and yang deficiency.The rule of single TCM patterns:Pattern of Ascendant hyperactivity of liver> Pattern of Phlegm-dampness> Pattern of yin deficiency with yang hyper> Pattern of yin and yang deficiency.2.Professor Cheng Choufu use of traditional Chinese medicine treatment of hypertension vertigo,use frequency is highest is Gastrodia elata、Atractylodes, Pinellia, Uncaria and Rhizoma Chuan xiong, Radix Scutellariae, Poria cocos, Haliotis, dried tangerine, gardenia, mulberry parasitism, In cultured, alisma, radix bupleuri, The second is Dangshen, eucommia bark, cortex moutan, radix paeoniae alba, chrysanthemum, acid-insoluble ash, rhizoma coptidis, radix aucklandiae, amomum fruit, rhizoma anemarrhenae, rhizoma corydalis, polygala, stone calamus, south star of Chinese Holly leaf, bravery, salvia miltiorrhiza, zizyphus jujube kernel, scorpion, batryticated silkworm, radix puerariae, notopterygium, magnolia bark, etc.3. Professor Cheng Choufu use Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of hypertensive vertigo, according to the type of excess or insufficiency of using medicine、phlegm、flat extinguish wind liver medicine, promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis drugs、clear heat purging gunpowder clear heat cool blood、 sedative medicine, medicine and water seeping wind wet medicine、liver qi, etc.4. Most of the patients of high blood pressure have other diseases. Professor Cheng Choufu cured them with a dialectic method. For example, he gave benefiting qi for activating blood circulation medicine to the patients with coronary heart disease, nourishing Yin medicine to the patients with diabetes and medicine can help people enliven the spleen and refresh their mind to the patients with cerebral infarct.
