Cos is world-renowned in classical Greece for its physicians. The Coan Physician also called Hippocratic Physician, which represented by "the father of Western medicine" Hippocrates of Cos, has brought a great change in Ancient Greek medical development. They first began accepting non-Asclepiads as their students, not only pass the medical skills for their family members, but also pass the medical skills for those who want to engage in the medical profession, this break the traditional "father to son" medical education model. If someone wants to become a doctor, he must not only learn medical skills, but also must learn speech skills."Hippocratic Oath","Law","Art","Precepts" and "Physician" which are included in the Hippocratic corpus, shape an image of the ancient Greek ideal physician.The School of Cos and the School of Cnidus are claiming to be descendants of the god of medicine Asclepius. Obviously, the Coan Physicians are better known than the Cnidian Physician in the ancient Greek society. For on the one hand, Cos was known by the "father of Western medicine" Hippocrates in the ancient world, and those students who taught by him transmitted Coan medical knowledge to other city states, which made Coan Physicians were known in ancient Greek world. On the other hand, the Hippocratic corpus that written by Coan Physicians has spread medical thought of the school of Cos. What’s more, the famous Ascleipion in Cos also attracts many people to sail there, since it was such a nice place for patients to recuperate.This Paper is divided into three parts:preface, main body and conclusion. Preface of this paper introduces the study of the ancient Greek physician at home and abroad. The main body is divided into three chapters. The first chapter reviews physicians in different Greek historical period, then discusses the rise of the Coan Physician, later introduces the most famous physician among Ancient Greeks, namely "the Father of Western medicine "-Hippocrates of Cos. The second chapter discusses the Coan medical education over the ancient world, which changes the traditional pattern of medical education and creates a new medical educational model. The third chapter, by comparing Cnidan School of medicine and Coan School of medicine to show the dominant of Coan Physicians, and at last studies on the social status and influence of Coan Physicians in ancient Greece.
