Soil moisture is the main factor of plant growth, vegetation restoration and ecological environment. It's a very important significance to research soil water movement and translation. This paper mostly completed the study on soil water movement of catchdrain aiming at the technology of runoff in sloping field, which laid a foundation for the technology of comprehensive sand prevention and control by runoff.Based on the theory of soil water dynamic, the paper analyzed the mechanism process of soil water movement of catchdrain in sloping filed. The foundational equation of soil water unsaturated flow was applied, the mathematical model of soil water movement was established, programs of Finite Deference Method with Visual Basic 6.0 program language were used to solve the equation. To test the reliability of the mathematical model established, author made out the field experimentation. The numerical simulation results were accordance with the experimental results.Application of mathematical model established, the paper simulated and analyzed the effect of a variety of factor to soil water movement, which just did the elementary study for the design of catchdrain and the relative technological research.
