Based on the project ((Numerical simulation for water flow and solute transport through soils)) supported by Science and Technology Creation Foundation of Xi'an University of Technology, numerical simulation for water flow and solute transport through ground water and soils by using the finite element method is mainly studied and some valuable results are obtained as follows:1. According to the plane suppose of ground water movement in the hydrated layer holding suppress. the numerical model of 2-D ground water flow in hydrated layer holding suppress with variable h was established by using the finite element method and the numerical simulation shows that the calculated results of is in good agreement with the calculated result of the finite difference method.2. The numerical model of 2-D solute transport in ground water with variable C was established under the condition of variety of water flow velocity is not too fast by using the finite element method and the numerical simulation shows that the calculated results is in good agreement with the measured date of experiment.3. According to the fundamental theory of dynamics, the numerical model of 2-D water flow in unsaturated soils with variable 9 was established under the condition of furrow irrigation or underground channel seepage irrigation by using the finite element method and the numerical simulation shows that the calculated results of numerical simulation is in good agreement with the measured date of experiment.
