As these surface materials were used tremendously, which made a unique color system in the traditional Chinese architecture, It also make Chinese traditional architecture an important feature of building system which different from the rest of the world. In modern times, this feature further development, which joined the Western architectural color elements, so that modern Chinese architectural color system became richer.With the rest of the same historical and cultural cities, Changsha has a deep history of ancient civilization, which is affected by the traditional Chinese cultural factors profoundly. n modern times, the modern and contemporary historic building of Changsha has undergone in the political, economic, social and cultural fields which have changed tremendously. The collision and conflict of East-West cultural, social patterns change, and changes in social class characteristics of all is reflected in this period building system. As a microcosm of modern society of Changsha, its modern blend of historic buildings is an important witness to Eastern and Western cultures. When the time goes by, the modern and contemporary historic building of Changsha has damage on varying degrees, so it's become very urgent and important to take effective measures for protection and restoration of architectural color.This paper will study modern color characteristics of historic buildings and conservation repair method of Changsha, and the specific research work are as follows:In this paper, based on the research and analysis of modern and contemporary historic building of Changsha, for the different classifications of modern and contemporary historic building of Changsha, summed up the building laws and characteristics of the color composition in-depth analysis and relevant information access and organize from the buildings as a whole to a different component of the color detail. And create initially the establishment of a representative color resource database of the architecture, on this basis, the analysis of the impact of the formation of the color characteristic and reasons, revealed color cultural connotations in special historical circumstances in China's modern society.
