Nuclear safety is the lifeline of nuclear power development. As practice indicated, the subassembly distortion is one of the most important factors that affect the fuel assembly, which is the most important subassembly in the core of the reactor. Serious distortion will reduce the life circle of the fuel assembly, or even make the fuel assembly broken in its life circle, and seriously threat the nuclear safety. Therefore, the periodic survey and evaluation to the subassembly distortion is very important.The first step of the realization of evaluation is to obtain the figure of the distorted subassembly. Based on the feature of the subassembly distortion, and combining with the circumstances and the requirement of the survey, a non-contact measuring method, which based on laser scanning and projecting technology, was chosen in this paper. The system takes the master slave controlling mode, firstly, it uses the precise mechanical device, which is controlled by computer, to drive the laser scanner to complete the shape scanning and measuring, the origin measuring signal that outputted by the laser scanner will be processed by the data collecting system, and then be transported through a COM port to the upper computer in a certain format. Afterward, the upper computer processes and stores the data by a certain algorithm, and eventually outputs the evaluation of the subassembly distortion and displays the scanned figure.
