During the process of airfoil assembly which is based on wing skeleton, there are no features which can represent the position and orientation of wing panel. Therefore, we need to scan and analysis the joint surface of panel and skeleton, so as to position the panel and coordinate the assembly of panel and skeleton. This paper mainly researches and explores the realization of Automatic Scanning Measurement System designed for airfoil assembly based on the Digital Assembly System for Airfoil. Automatic Scanning Measurement System is developed upon polyworks by applying VC++, laser scanning, NC system communication, point cloud matching and analysis technology and realizes functions of automatic scanning, posture evaluation, interference detection and so on, which maks the alignment and positioning of panel digital. At the same time, with the calculated interference between wing panel and skeleton, it will be digital to conduct repaire-value of panel. This system greatly improves the coordination accuracy and the assembly efficiency.In chapter1, the research status of the digital assembly of airfoil at home and abroad is introduced firstly. Then different types of airfoil assembly system are sumed up. At the same time, some digital measurement systems widely used in airfoil assembly system are analyzed. Finally the research background, meaning and the structure of this paper are presented. In chapter2, based on the structure and characteristics of the elements of airfoil, the components of Airfoil Digital Assembly System are given and the general layout of airfoil measurement system is introduced. At last the system configuration, the scan principle and the measuring precision of Automatic Scanning Measurement System are analyzed. In chapter3, the hardware integration method of Automatic Scanning Measurement System is discussed. And according to the demands of communication and data transfer between Automatic Scanning Measurement Software and Assembly Technology Main Control System, the method of data communication is studied. The data communication between Automatic Scanning Measurement System and NC system is also realized. In chapter4, the functional module of Automatic Scanning Measurement Software is designed and devided into four modules. Then the automatic scanning module, the scan data process module and the scan data analysis module are elaborated. In chapter5, the general technological process in Airfoil Digital Assembly System is introduced. Then the technological process of the coordination between panel and skeleton is discussed. Finally scanning and analysing the synthetic parts during assembly which confirms the practicability and correction of Automatic Scanning Measurement System. In chapter6, summary for the whole work in this dissertation is given, and the future work is discussed.
