Networked manufacturing (NM) meet the demand that economic globalization and development of modern manufacturing industry. It is the requirement of strategy that propelling industrialized development with informationization. Manufacturing resource sharing is the foundation and prerequisite of NM. It can improve the innovation ability of the product designing of enterprises, so as to realize low cost and high-efficiency in product designing. Sharing and optimization of manufacturing resource through network in each enterprise is the one of the most important characteristics of NM. We establish manufacturing resource sharing platform (MRSP) with multifunction which integrate resource from many aspects. That platform will be an important technical tool which support implementation of NM in enterprises.On the foundation of digitized design handbook software system of manufacturing resource, the functional architecture of MRSP based on rich client technology (RCT) for NM has been put forward in this thesis. Some key technologies for implementation of MRSP have been studied with emphasis, such as constructing principle and system structure of MRSP, modeling and acquisition of resource in NM mode, rich client technology. MRSP oriented digitized design handbook software system of engineering material is developed. It is the basal work for the development of NM oriented MRSP. The main characteristics and creative ideas of the dissertation are as follows:(1) By analyzing informationization of manufacturing engineering and the research actuality of NM, we dissertate one of the important way of exerting predominance and function of manufacturing resource is to establish MRSP. This platform realize open resourcesharing of every enterprise and improve technology level and market competitive power of enterprise.(2) Based on scheme planning and total design of MRSP, the functional system structure of the platform is presented, which include base layer, function system, models of enterprise, application tools and management tool, etc. We analyze and dissertate some key technologies for MRSP in this paper.(3) Based on the demand, purpose and meaning of manufacturing resource model, the networked manufacturing resource model oriented MRSP is presented by applying object-oriented resource modeling method. That provide the proof for utilizing MRSP to accomplish the resource integration and optimization.(4) A new resource sharing platform mode is presented based on RCT, that is client application technology on the basis of server. Client application program which inbuilt the technology can dispose and manage on server automatically. RCT offers a powerful technological platform that can fulfil the client 's ability. Client application program perform as well as desktop application software, but it can realize automatic network upgrade. This technology have offered the theoretical foundation for platform construction.(5) We have developed digitized design handbook software system of engineering material (nonmetal material) oriented MRSP, which consist of in common use material, nonmetal material and engineering calculator. The nonmetal material include rubber and plastic, etc. 17 kinds. The software system offer many kinds of convenient ways of inquiry. The characteristics of software system are abundant data resource, convenient in using, friendly interface. It has been published by China Machine Press.
