Exploration Of Virtual Reality Application Technology On Architecture Design

The computer science not only has affected every aspect of dailylife,but also is changing the traditional architectural design approach in many aspects．The Virtual Reality technology ,which is believed to be one of technologies most probable to change the world in the 21th century．It provides us a virtual world that is more real than real．With the application of VR technology in achitecture design,architect can achieve their works in 3D Virtual World,which is visible,touchable and sensible． It not only provides a new means of artistic expression for architectural creation,but also makes the architectural design method and concept greatly changeable．Following this train of thought,the paper focuses the application of Virtual Reality technology on architectural design and artistic expression field．For one hand,the application can achieve the purpose to prove a variety of design thinking and process,and to also improve the quality of architectural design．For another hand,the Virtual Reality technology ,which is vivid,interactive,authentic,accutate and integrated,provides a more power manitestation to extend the field of artistic expression for architectural creation．Based on these,the preliminary discussion concerning to rethinking on the essence of architecture and that of architectural design is conducted．This paper is composed of four parts．The first part is intends to describe background and significence of the theme,it includes four parts,the present stage of using computer in the boundary of China architecture,the introduction of Virtual Reality technology,the range and distinguishing of the Virtual Reality application on architectural design．The second part analyses the methods of Virtual Reality technology on architectural design process．The third part concerns to rethinking on the essence of architecture and that of architectural design in VR era．The final part draws to a conclusion that Virtual Reality is an epoch-making tools that it will betoken some new trends in human life and mankinds thinking．Our target is to master this advanced tool and use it as an effictive medium in process of design and then proceed to propel the architectural design forward．...
