Virtual Reality Technology(VRT) produces a 3D space by the computer. It perceives and studies the variant law of the objective world by making the user into the environment, making use of multidimensional input & output equipments and the feeling of ON-THE-SCENE produced on the basis of this. Then, VRML is a kind of file format that is conjoint with the World Information Network and used for describing the 3D space and intermotive world. It can be used in building 3D spatial object, scene and virtual model for showing. By VRML, the users of The World Information Network can view spatial model, without being confined to planar graph, image.Machine Design , as a basic technology subject, has a wide knowledge area, and has a number of complicated movement mechanism, working specific, state of bearing force and structure design of parts. The teachers will have difficulty in teaching and the students cannot understand easily, if only by means of blackboard, chalk. Now. It's the gap of network, and network education will be more and more flourish. Simple CAI software have been limited by many facts, and it's unfitted to remote education. However, The VRML provides condition for developing remote graphic educational software of real 3D world. It makes our country's remote education get to a new step.In this paper,VRML2.0 is used as the developing tool and the main elements and parts in machine design are regarded as objects. Firstly, the typical parts, such as sliding bearings, are selected for example, then sliding bearings' 3D models of different forms are showed to the users to master the overall sliding bearings' structure. For the sliding bearings under static loading, the distribution of pressure is expressed with the animation and their pressure distribution properties can be more easily understood. The moving trace of axes for sliding bearings under dynamic loading is demonstrated with a qualitative method so that the students can have the acquaintance for it. The most popular software, such as Java, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, Flash, etc., is used in solving the problems mentioned above. VB6.0, a most popular Object-Oriented programming language, is used for the entire design package to make it into a entire, beautiful and easily installing one.The following languages and software, such as VRML, VB6.0, Java and some other homepage design software, are used in this paper. Thus, it displays a strong intercrossing of different subjects. Within the computers-widely-used times, this paper is very helpful for practicability and reference.
