| Ecosystem services are the conditions and processes through which natural ecosystems, and the species that make them up, sustain and fulfill human life. The research on ecosystem services is developing in the near years and is one of the hottest topic in ecology and ecological economics since the late of 1990s. To assess the value of ecosystem function and valuation is the essential for bringing ecosystem function into the social economic system and marketing, and is also an important way to arouse the attention of the society on the environment and ecosystem conservation.Based on literature review of the origin, value assessment, development and trends of ecosystem service research, Daiyunshan was selected as a study case in this paper. The ETM image, contour map and vegetation map were employed to interpretation the ecosystem types. 1:1000000 ecosystem map and the area of 10 main vegetation types in the studied area were obtained from GIS analysis. The value of the ecosystem services of different vegetation, which included the primary productivity, soil and fertilization conservation, water conservation, fixing CO2, releasing O2 and cleaning the environment of vegetation ecosystem, tourism and farm product values were analyzed by the method of market valuation, shadow engineering, substitute expense etc. Then the space distribution diagram of ecological value was established on the terrace of GIS. The results showed that the ecological value was far more economic and social value of sorest ecosystem services in Daiyunshan nature reserve. At the same time, the aesthetic value assessment of forest landscape in Daiyunshan nature reserve was assessed by using method of Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP). The results showed that the rate of Daiyunshan's aesthetic value was a graceful one. In order to achieve the best use of the ecosystem services and aesthetic value, this paper expounded some landscape ecological construction methods at last.
