This paper aims at the circs of that it mainly depends on the workers experience during the process of ultra-precision lapping and polishing, and exists strong subjectivity, no considering choosing procedure at the point of view of saving time, so a resolving method to design the system of process optimum and intelligent control was presented. With the deeply research on polishing course and mechanism, knowledge base and database based on a great deal of process data which we accumulated can be built, the experience was made into transcendent knowledge and model, finally system of process optimization was built with the knowledge of intelligent control, it can make the process of ultra-precision lapping and polishing intelligently.The main content and achievement as follow: first the forming process of super-smooth surface and the parameters of the ultra-precision lapping and polishing was researched, with the actual problems in machining process, a principle which with the purpose of the shortest machining time by the restriction of obtaining the surface precision and satisfy the stock removal was presented. Before machining, the parameters were organized and sorted, and the process data base was built, optimum method was expatiated, finally the optimal process flow line after finishing the time calculate was got. Secondly, during the process of ultra-precision lapping and polishing, the material removal rate will reduce with the surface roughness reducing, so the procedure was divided into several operations, different parameters were set to heighten the machining efficiency during different operations, also the reason and influence of surface scratch marks was researched, based on that the intelligent control technology on simulating forecast was introduced, the parameters real-time optimum and the method of pressure choose on scratch marks control was expatiated, the design and project realization of the expert intelligent control system was presented at last.
