PP is one kind of general purpose plastics, which has a number of properties and so it is used widely in plenty of applications. It is the best material which has excellent properties, which has arisen great emphasis in research and industry fields. Common PP might just as well play the role of engineering plastics in many applied fields.In this article, a new polyolefin elastomer (POE) was selected as toughening agent, and nano-Kaolin and nano-CaCO3 as reinforcments. The conventionnal toughening method by elastomers and new reinforcing techniques by nano-particles were took into consideration, and the alloy technology and filler compounding procedure were combined together in preparing PP composites which has appropriate properties. Reinforcing of the PP/POE/nano-particles blends with various reinforcements were investigated.The work shows that in comparison with general polyolefin elastomer EPDM, PP/POE has extinct impact toughness and the critical content of elastomer of transition from brittle to ductile. Nano-Kaolin,nano-CaCO3 and elastomer POE have synthetic effects on toughening. It is more than the addition of the dependent effect. Nano-particles make up for strength of PP/POE. They make the tendency of reduction of strength which is made by POE mild.Crystalline structure and characteristics of PP/nano-particles composites are observed by polarizing microscope and DSC respectively.
